Welcome to my Website

We all start somewhere

Remember the journey towards wellness has nothing to do with dieting or counting calories. You don't need to be a vegan or vegetarian to benefit or enjoy delicious, healthy plant-based recipes.  Anyone can be an unhealthy vegan, vegetarian or meat-eater. It's important that we get our food from the earth and eat whole foods if we want to clear our minds and clean our bodies. Remember we don't get 9 lives like a cat we only get one body on earth. Be kind to your body.

Heal it, Restore it, and Love it!

I'm no spring chicken! I've been around for 44+ years on this planet, and I love it! There is an abundance of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, and legumes available for me to eat. I have never felt deprived and I am thankful for what this earth can provide. People have often asked me, "Do you ever get bored of eating lettuce". The truth is, I'm not a rabbit, and although I love eating salads on occasion, I also love eating "real" food too. I make hearty lentil soups, potato and lentil shepherd pies, hummus wraps with veggies, mock chicken salad sandwiches made from cashews, french fries with mock home made cheese sauce and natural banana/strawberry ice-cream with fresh fruit and maple syrup drizzled on top. I love eating any fruits and vegetables from the earth. Don't worry, you won't waste away to nothing either, if you eat healthy, wholesome meals. You cannot deprive yourself, and like I said before, you cannot think of becoming a vegan or vegetarian as a diet. It is a LIFESTYLE. I promise you, the earth has more available to you than just lettuce! When you think about the herbivores in the wild, they eat from the earth right? So why shouldn't we? We are all biotic- living organisms. We need to eat to survive. Not starve to thrive.

Don't be afraid of what some people tell you. Listen to your body! Your body is a great counselor and coach. You need to try the lifestyle long enough to know if it's right for you. You don't even need to become a vegan or a vegetarian, just incorporate more fruits and veggies into your diet. I'm not here to convert anyone, just share my life experience as a vegetarian/vegan for the last 44 years. Like I said previously, I'm no spring chicken, but my times a tick-in, so I'm going to start pick-in (vegetables and fruits)

Why Plants?

I've been plant-based for well over 44 years. If you haven't already guessed, I was raised vegetarian. It's difficult for a lot of people to fathom the idea of never eating meat their entire life, but I don't know any different. After several years of being an unhealthy vegetarian and living off of Kraft Dinner, French Fries and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, I decided to give a plant-based lifestyle a try. After only a couple of weeks of avoiding my favourite food, "CHEESE", I began to feel much better. Then, after a night out with my kids, they convinced me to order a pizza. As we all know, pizza isn't really pizza without all the extra cheese on top, right! Long story short, I wolfed down the pizza to only feel terrible afterwards. I noticed that dairy products started to leave a bad taste in my mouth and I didn't enjoy them as I once did as a vegetarian. After that experience I decided to give up dairy and become vegan.  A lot of people assume vegans eat like rabbits, and that their main meals are salads, but there is nothing further from the truth. I do love salads, don't get me wrong, but I also get bored quite fast of the same kind of food day in and day out; this is why I enjoy creating new and interesting recipes.  Since transitioning and becoming a vegan I feel much healthier and cleaner. I can only speak from my own personal experience, and I'm not here to convert anyone to veganism. This isn't my place to do so, nor is it my goal.  I just realize over time that choosing this lifestyle has many benefits,  not only for our health, but also for the planet and the animals.  I realize everyone's journey is different, and everyone's pace is different, this is why I refuse to push my views on anyone. I believe we need to make our own choices, and this was MY choice.
