Cooking takes time, it's true! I am the first to admit that I spend the majority of my weekend cooking to prepare lunches for the week. However, when I see a nation that is sick, obese and tired, I know I'm making the right choice for myself and my family. We all have options to buy ourselves time, and fast food restaurants seem to cater to our busy lifestyles, and fast food restaurants are a tempting alternative as they are quick, easy, and convenient.

Fast food restaurants are everywhere, and our kids have become addicted, and so have we! In most cities and towns you can drive less than10 kilometers and find a McDonald’s or Wendy's on every corner. Some people believe they have found a solution to their busy lifestyles by eating out every day, but they don’t realize that their health will eventually pay the price. Countless research has proven that not eating healthy can lead to major diseases and even cancers.

Cooking at home fosters social skills, teaches children the importance of eating healthy, helps you save money, and helps you live longer. Why wouldn’t you want to cook!
